24.11.2005 - "walking the images," Lecture on William Kentridge’s Work by Dr. Angela Breidbach, 7:00 p.m.
The image-theorist Angela Breidbach is the author of the book William Kentridge, Thinking Aloud, Gespräche mit A.B., which was published in June. Her doctoral dissertation was supervised by Gottfried Boehm and is entitled Anschauungsraum bei Cézanne.

04.12.2005 - William Kentridge: Journey to the Moon & 9 Drawings for Projection German Premiere with Live-Music Performance, 5:00 p.m.
After successful appearances in Johannesburg, Zurich and Open Air in Central Park, New York, the Deutsche Guggenheim in Berlin is presenting the German premiere of the outstanding live-music performance Journey to the Moon & 9 Drawings for Projection.
Kentridge’s film works 9 Drawings for Projection from his ‘Soho Eckstein‘ series as well as Journey to the Moon are being shown along with a live performance of the original film music. Composed by Philip Miller, the music is played by the Archimia-Quartett and Vincenzo Pasquariello, piano, in the Atrium of the Deutsche Bank, in a production by Art Logic, Johannesburg, and Change Performing Arts, Milan.

Raising the Curtain

Waiting to be discovered in the exhibition of William Kentridge are drawings and films as well as a miniature theater. Our theme will include everything about the theater – stage-set, figures, music. How does theater work, what did it look like in earlier times, and how can a miniature theater be set up? Raising the curtain – now the spotlight is on the children!
