Be an artist yourself!
Family Workshop for Children (6 to 10 years)
A large egg occupies the gallery of the Deutsche Guggenheim. How did it get there? Is it heavy or light, and of what is made of? Together, we take a closer look at Anish Kapoor’s sculpture at the Deutsche Guggenheim and uncover its secrets. The following day at the Wedding Art Workshop for Children, you and your parents will become artists yourselves and create your own sculptures from various materials.

Let’s dance!
Youth Dance Workshop (11 years and older)
Crowded buses, busy sidewalks, blocked streets. It’s all part of daily life. Situations and objects force us to do things differently, not as planned. We have to step aside, make a spontaneous detour and search for a new path to our goal. Anish Kapoor’s commission Memory is just such an object. It blocks our way and makes it impossible to walk around it and take it in as a whole. After a guided tour through the exhibition, we express our experience of the sculpture and the space in dance. During the next two days, we develop our own dance piece at the Deutsche Guggenheim and at ada Studio together with the dancers Gabi Beier and Jan Burkhardt. At the end of the workshop (01/11/2009, at 2 p.m.), we perform the piece in the museum gallery. Parents and friends are invited to watch.
